After brainstorming solutions for schools’ internal weaknesses, students included in SWOT VET eTwinning project had to come up with ideas on how to resolve threats from their external community, their surroundings. They finished the task before the middle of May 2021 and it was second step in “students suggesting solutions” phase of the project.
Conducting SWOT analysis without any further action wouldn’t make much of a sense, which is why this project included one phase for solution suggesting. During the previous project activity, students had to think of the ways how their schools, officials, themselves and their parents could work on fixing internal weaknesses. After that, they had to come up with actions that could be taken in order to turn their surroundings and external circumstances into schools’ opportunities or, at least, neutralized threats.
This brainstorming was done in the first half of the May 2021. Each school was working for itself. Students continued working in groups and their final ideas had to be listed on digital posters which had to be made using Canva. Canva is online tool for creating digital visuals and students already had a chance to work with it during some previous project tasks. The posters with suggested solutions to threats are shared below the text, so you can check students’ ideas and designs.
For neutralizing some threats and creating new spaces for development outside their schools, students noticed that they will have to reach out to their community – a lot. Many of the suggestions include calls for government actions and actions of official city bodies or building relationships with businesses and other schools – especially elementary schools and their students in order to evoke interest for vocational education. Some solutions include taking some additional actions by their schools with a goal of using opportunities like EU funds to minimize external threats.
If you want to know more about what students think it’s possible for their schools and community to do and achieve better conditions for everyone included, check out their Threats solutions posters below!
