What should we do with our weaknesses?

Figuring out your weaknesses should result only in one action – attempt to turn them into your strengths. Which was exactly what our students had to do after they had finished with SWOT analyses for their own schools. This was the task that had to be done before middle of May and SWOT VET students delivered great work before the deadline.

What would be the point of analyzing your condition and the way you function if not to get it better? Of course, overall plan for SWOT VET eTwinning project included activities that will try to solve some weak points in participating schools. The first in the line were internal weaknesses. After they completed their SWOT analyses, students had to come up with ideas how to combat poor factors - things and services that lack in their schools and should be provided.

Brainstorming followed and all of the collected suggestions were put in digital posters which students had to make using web application, Canva. Canva is one of the easiest online tools for creating digital visuals, so it seemed like the most appropriate one.

After analyzing students’ suggested solutions, it was noticeable – and logical – that they will need help from school management, city authorities and donators. Since some of the problems include lack of transport, gym, canteen, they have to take in count people on some higher positions. Students are aware of it, but it was very nice to see that they are willing to participate, make some effort and try to engage their parents into development of their schools, too. Interesting thing, which could come to mind to every student group, but only one wrote it down, is that sharing their SWOT analyses and suggestions with school’s management might be one important step toward building better programs, classrooms and classes.

Take a look at what our students wrote and share with us if you have some of your own suggestions.
